We understand your frustrations regarding the full-depth reclamation (FDR) of Wallace Martin Drive. Please take a moment to look at the graphic related to FDR, as it involves much more than just basic road resurfacing.

 

Unfortunately, the base layer did not pass the compaction tests and must be redone.  Our engineer is currently awaiting results from the latest testing and work will resume once the engineer verifies that the results meet our standards.

 

This certainly has caused inconveniences, but the city has spent years saving SPLOST & TSPLOST funds and securing grant funding; the road must be constructed right.  The contractor is correcting the work at no charge to the city.
